ROADSHOW 2009
FROM BEGINNER TO WINNER
DRILLS WORKSHOP
Now in its third year, the Roadshow is a four hour FREE training event for members that visits around forty venues throughout the UK during the autumn. The 2008 roadshow proved very succesful, with around one thousand coaches attending the sessions throughout the UK.
FROM BEGINNER TO WINNER - DRILLS WORKSHOP is this year’s theme and takes a detailed look at when and how to use drills in your sessions, from Mini Tennis through to performance. We all use drills in our lessons but do we really know how to make them as effective as possible, the tactical intention behind their use, and when and how to progress them.
Delegates on the roadshow receive a FREE copy of our new DRILLS WORKSHOP booklet, detailing over 100 drills to use in your lessons, many of which will be featured during the roadshow session.
The roadshow is FREE to members (£95 to non-members - it's cheaper to join!) and qualifies for four LTA licence credits
Please note that places on the roadshow should be booked by telephone or by completing and returning the application form, available on the web site. Please ensure that you do book - if we do not know you are coming, we cannot let you know if there are any changes to the arrangements!
2008 roadshow SUCCESS
The 2008 roadshow was a four hour event and was a detailed study of the most important shot in tennis, the serve. It also introduced a new concept in technical training for the UK - the FROM BEGINNER TO WINNER series.
Coaches told us that they wanted like to see a structured series of technical courses on the major shots in the game, so the FROM BEGINNER TO WINNER series was born. We chose the serve as our first presentation because we found that it is the shot that coaches find the most problematical to teach effectively. The concept is an interactive session featuring a mixture of oncourt/offcourt instruction, relying on high speed super slow motion video analysis to back up the ideas and concepts taught on the course.
