NOMINATE YOUR YOUNG COACH OF THE YEAR
FOR THE DARREN TOOP AWARD

Jez Green

Do you know a young tennis coach who is dedicated, enthusiastic, full of desire, someone who loves the game, will hit tennis balls with anyone at any time, constantly wants to learn and improve their own and their pupils’ knowledge of the game?

Darren Toop was such a coach - dedicated, hard working, enthusiastic, full of desire, and born with a insatiable love of the game. He had that special ability to make his pupils feel they were the best because he was able to inspire them to reach their full potential.

At 22 years old Darren was the youngest coach to gain the LTA Performance Coach Award in September 1995. After his tragic death in May 1996, the LTA and the BTCA (now TENNISCOACHUK) set up the Darren Toop Young Coach of
the Year Award in his memory, to be presented annually to a young tennis coach under 25 years of age who it is thought best personifies Darren’s spirit, commitment, enthusiasm and dedication to coaching.

You are invited to nominate a coach for this year’s LTA/TENNISCOACHUK Darren Toop Young Coach of the Year Award, someone who is making a particular impact on tennis in your area and who is making the effort to go ‘that bit further’ than most coaches. The award will be presented at the TENNISCOACHUK National Conference this November and the winner will receive:

A silver and crystal trophy engraved with the names of the winners

An award certificate together with £100 cash prize

One year’s membership of TENNISCOACHUK

Free attendance at the 2009 TENNISCOACHUK National Conference at David Lloyd Bushey, Watford
