One area in particular was highlighted by many of you - the High Performance Club (HPC) structure and the associated Satellite clubs, a list of which has just been released by the LTA - click HERE to see details of which clubs have been assigned Satellite status Around 160 clubs have been granted Satellite status, sharing an annual budget of around £1.1 million. Not all of this money is from the LTA, a proportion of it being from the National Sports Foundation. Details of the specific funding amounts for each club have not yet been released by the LTA. One particular area of concern voiced by some of the coaches at the new Satellite clubs is to do with the contracts that the clubs are being asked to sign by the LTA and it is something we will be looking at in the next issue of Coachline magazine, due out at the beginning of October. Let us have your thoughts on this and anything else you feel is of interest to coaches. CHANGES AT THE LTA Many of you will be aware that the LTA coach education staff have all been made to reapply for their posts, following the appointment of Bill Mountford as the Head of Coach Relations and Competitions. This is the second time in under a year that this has happened to staff in this most important of LTA departments, many of whom are members of the BTCA. We wish all involved the best of luck when the appointments are announced next week and we dedicate this issue's Thought for the Week to the powers that be at the LTA. Happy coaching! Following the very successful pilot of our movement masterclass with the BTCA movement expert, Nino Severino, we are pleased to announce that we are running a second masterclass with Nino at the David Lloyd Centre in Basildon, Essex on Thursday 27th September. Amongst Nino's growing list of clients is Elena Baltacha and her coaches, Alan Jones and Jo Durie.
This course will focus on broad base and specific movement, guiding the tennis coach through the principles of movement efficiency and economy. This understanding will then be transferred to tennis specific application. Skills and drills will also be incorporated showing the coach how to stimulate the player mentally and physically as well as using the principles of Footsport to increase movement quality. Specific Footsport coaching cues will be used to show how to manage small and large groups.
Coaches interested in attending should contact the national office or you can download the application form from the web site by clicking HERE

A number of members have told us that they have recently received emails that purport to have come via the BTCA, offering get rich quick schemes or incredible deals on tennis related goods and services.
Please be reassured that we take your privacy very seriously and as such never provide any third party organisation (including the LTA) with any of your personal details. Please report any such email you may receive to us so that we can take immediate action.
NEVER respond to such emails directly - you may then find you have inadvertently 'verified' your email address and will then be inundated with junk email forever more.

TENNIS BALLS FROM JUST £7 PER DOZEN
Wilson provide members of the BTCA with some fantastic deals on tennis balls.
All balls provided through the deal are GENUINE Wilson balls. Many of the balls now available through many of the discount sports shops are not top grade balls and as such provide coaches with a false economy since they will not last as long as the real thing.
Please also bear in mind that Wilsons sponsorship of the BTCA as the Official Ball Supplier subsidises the cost of subscriptions so please buy your balls through Wilson when you can to help us keep down the cost of your subs!
