ROADSHOW DATES FOR 2008
We are pleased to announce the new dates for the 2008 tenniscoachUK roadshow, now rescheduled for the end of the year, following the problems we had with approval for licence credits from the LTA earlier in the year.
This year's annual BTCA roadshow aims to provide coaches with a thorough overview of the technical issues related to the most important shot in the game - the serve.
The session will cover how to teach the serve, from Mini Tennis level through to performance standard and will provide delegates with a thought provoking session on how to teach this most important of shots. Theory will be backed up by the use of on-court video clips on our large projector screen to illustrate the teaching points made throughout the session.
Topics that will be covered on the course include:
Getting the basics right - right racket for your pupil
Teaching philosophy
Windows of opportunity
Swing shape, grip and stance
Use of the non-racket arm
Appropriate use of rotation
Follow-through
Movement patterns after contact
Effective tips and drills
The four hour session is FREE of charge to members and will provide licensed coaches with four licence credits.
The roadshow will also feature the 2008 Basket Feed competition, back for a second year with bigger and better prizes, and an update on the BTCA and the benefits and services provided to members.
